YMCA of Yaphank
The YMCA is the premier community based not-for-profit organization in the country. Its not-for-profit program would offer a menu of community based activities and services to the Yaphank community at below market prices. The YMCA of Yaphank would offer a 45,000 square foot full service facility that would service the community of the Yaphank region. From a state-of-the-art fitness facility to educational and child-care programs, the YMCA of Yaphank would provide an incredible benefit for those in the local community.
The Y offers a host of programs and services that include Childcare programs, Babysitting services, Day camp facilities, Craft rooms, Children's center, Strength Training and Cardiovascular center, Indoor Walking and Jogging tracks, Aerobic and Dance Studio, Pool with Men's and Women's locker rooms, Teen Rec Center, Gymnasium, Multipurpose meeting rooms, and a Performing Arts Center that will be host to local community-based functions, events and concerts.
As detailed above, Quadrant B1 will take on the characteristic of Quadrant B by introducing additional residential uses into this area to have them within walkable proximity to the YMCA.
